Hours & FAQs

Ordering and pickup hours

In order to respect Governor Northam’s directive regarding social distancing, all orders are taken online at www.ardenthelpsrva.com. Orders will be packed and made available for pick-up the next business day during Ardent’s normal taproom hours of 2-8pm, Tuesday-Sunday. Anyone who has a recent pay stub from a restaurant is encouraged to place an order.

FAQ

Who is eligible to order items from the food bank?

All restaurant workers in the region. It doesn’t matter whether you have been laid off or have had your hours reduced. Simply bring a recent pay stub, show it upon entry, and retrieve your order.

What items will be available?
Food items available are dependent on what is donated by our suppliers. Due to our limited volunteer resources, we cannot accommodate requests for specific food items. Each box that we prepare will represent a variety of food groups and constitute multiple meals.
How many items may I order at a time?
We have a limited number of food items to distribute, and hundreds of people in need. Please limit your order to one total box if ordering for yourself, or two total boxes if ordering for multiple people. Thanks for your understanding, and please feel free to place another order at a later date.
How long will the program last?
Ardent Helps will operate as long as we are able to safely do so and items remain available. We will follow all recommendations and guidelines provided by the State of Virginia.

Concept & Mission

Ardent Helps, inspired by Pale Fire Brewing Co’s project Pale Fire Helps, is a partnership between Ardent Craft Ales, Sysco Foods, The Holli Fund and Digital Minerva <Web / Marketing>. Our mission is to help people in the restaurant industry with direct support by supplying food products free of charge.

The restaurant industry has been decimated by the COVID-19 virus and our country’s need to close or restrict public gathering spaces. Hundreds of restaurant workers in Richmond and the surrounding area have been laid-off or furloughed from their jobs. For many, the crisis has led to a total loss of income with little warning.

Ardent has a large taproom space that is currently closed to the public. We have put that space to work as a pick-up location for food items generously donated by Sysco Foods. We practice social distancing and follow CDC recommendations for maintaining a safe facility.
